Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib

❁Uncle and guardian of the Prophet ﷺ after his grandfather's death — his given name was Abd Manaf, with 'Abu Talib' the kunya by which he became known — and father of Ali ibn Abi Talib; he shielded the Prophet ﷺ from Quraysh until his own death, in what became known as the Year of Sorrow.
